What is healy lake?

Healy Lake is a small, rural community located in the Richardson Highway corridor of Alaska, United States. It is situated approximately 20 miles east of Delta Junction and has a population of around 400 people. The lake for which the community is named after is the largest freshwater lake in the area, spanning over 4 miles in length. The community is primarily inhabited by Alaska Native people, with the majority being of Athabascan descent. Traditional subsistence practices, such as hunting, fishing, and gathering, play a significant role in the daily lives of Healy Lake residents. The community has a small school, health clinic, and general store, but the nearest major town with more services and amenities is Delta Junction.
